Product description
Magnetite, also known as magnetite, is one of the most important iron ores and an iron oxide that is found all over the world. Magnetite usually develops octahedron-shaped crystals of grey-brown to black, metallic colour during natural formation. More often, however, it occurs as a solid mineral. Iron oxidation causes the brown to red colouration of the rock. Occasionally, a natural patina (rust) may be present.
Magnetic iron ore has a high iron content, possesses magnetic properties and is a natural mineral magnet. It is one of a few minerals that can be attracted by a magnet but do not have a magnetic effect on each other, i.e. they do not repel or attract each other. The effect of intrinsic magnetism is usually weak and hardly observable.
Please note that these magnetic stones are not intended to be used as refrigerator magnets or strong magnets, as they have purely natural magnetic properties. These are weaker compared to man-made magnets.
